Isekai’d into the arms of a Yandere Duke is an idea produced for the yandere game jam 2023.
About
The story follows the player, who awakens in a world different from the one they know, and yet is familiar. They come face to face with their favorite character from an old medieval fantasy otome game(tentatively named Rosalind’s Lie) - The Duke Lucien ‘Lucy’ Lockhart, who had gained self-awareness after the many, many replays the player has gone through his route seeking comfort. The player’s memories of ending up in this situation are fuzzy, but they are very much in the world of the otome game, made reality. While they try to find their bearings in this new place, they have to juggle with the Duke’s clear affections for them while figuring out whether they want to stay, or if they want to go back home, at the risk of setting off the man who has something to do with their mysterious arrival in the first place.

Author notes
A very short demo, probably takes 10-15 minutes to finish. I wanted to add a lot more for the demo but alas, my first attempt at making a VN, and fully solo-dev at that, was a lot more time consuming than I'd thought, while juggling with daily life struggles as well. I definitely intend to keep working on this in the mean time, slowly, and will share details and updates over on my twitter.

Even though the demo is short it was REALLY good! I was so invested by the story that when it cut off I was shocked by the abruptness of it. I'm really looking forward to more when updates come out :)

Honestly, I'm in love with the demo. Lucy is soo sweet, I know things are probably gonna get somewhat ugly depending on our choices since he is a yandere, but I can't help but fall for his sweet gestures. Also I think it's very interesting that we are indeed a player in this game. It makes me wonder about how we are going to get introduced to the social world, if we are at all. Will other characters also become self aware and what about the originale MC? Will she have one of the personalities that were set for her or will she be possessed by a player? Will she try to go down the Harem route and have Lucien?
I hope there will be other internal screaming moments throughout the game , it was a very good laugh!
In any case the demo is awesome and I'm really looking forward to the full game or even just the complete day one! But of course take your time, health always comes first!

MC getting isekai'd as themselves are actually pretty common in general isekai, but not in otome ones so I decided to mix it up. Just wanted to write something where the LI accepts mc for who they are, both inside and out.
The original heroine will show up in the story eventually! All I can say now is that she has a bone to pick with MC haha.

I would be lying ıf ı say ı wasnt waiting for such a game concept actually. I love isekai stories!! but when MC realizes that they actually entered the world as themself ı was also suprised. usually isakai stories are about characters getting isekaid as some villain or some extra character so ı thought that would be the same case but nope! she was herself even inside of a fiction which ı think makes story very unique and ıts not even the end ı was even more suprised when duke actually knew us XD ı actually ı felt both so happy and bad for the character when duke said he heard us lol because ıf ı were there ı would also internally scream. but also ı think duke knowing us and also loving us back (ı mean ı guess so? ı think ı even was hearts in his eyes :D ) is pretty good and actually saves us from ''fallig in love'' parts int he story(well mostly since he still doesnt know us much) ı really wonder about villainess and main character though since duke also confessed that we were making main character do choices and since we are no longer in control and the game is the same one we played what happened to main character? did she gain consciousness after doing same choices over and over again? or perhaps did she also fell in love with duke after our chaarcter made her choose him many times how about the villainess? ı dont knoooww ım soo excited and ım also curious how will they react our character? will they realize we were the one who controlled game ? so many questiooonnss ^^;; anyway ım really excited to see the full game !! I know in the isekai otome genre, especially in korean manhwa, reincarnations as a heroine/villainess/extra is very common, but this one would be more closer to Japanese isekai anime and otome game concepts! I just decided to mix a bit of this and that haha. I just like the idea of being your own person instead of "borrowing" or "mixing" with another personality. And yes, once Lucien became self-aware, over time he falls in love with MC - so he is already in love by the start of this vn!
The heroine in the original otome game is named Rosalind, and I've planned to have her appear later in the story. This will be the first time I'm sharing info on her, but she will also be self-aware and have some resentment towards MC because she didn't appreciate being controlled, even if it isn't really MC's fault. Also, I don't have an actual villainess character in this story because Rosalind fills that role somewhat - will be explained in-game later!
I actually appreciate questions like these, while I can't answer everything openly, it does help me think and develop on the story more! To make it easier to ask questions, I will be making a tumblr blog for this game so be sure to keep an eye out for that!

I loved this! Such a good beginning, it only got better as it's revealed he's entirely self aware and knows who MC is and not as the heroine of the original game. (Also when it's hinted he's aware of repeated playthroughs of his route + heard us gushing about him beyond the screen,,, i had to choose *internal screaming* hahaha)

Ahh, honestly it IS short because I actually did plan the whole day 1 content for the demo but couldn't finish it in time. I'll be working on that next to get it out as soon as I'm able.
